Volunteering
Being a volunteer is important to our group!
As retired teachers, we are active in their communities volunteering in various organizations and projects. We continue to serve. As of December 2015 members of the HCRTA have reported 104,004 hours of volunteer work since we began keeping records in 2005. That is a significant contribution to our communities! When you combine that with other retired teacher associations in the state as a whole, it is an impressive number. The total volunteer hours of our membership show the public that retired teachers, in whatever organization they may be in, make an important contribution to that organization and to their community. By focusing on volunteer hours, we hope that this will stimulate more members to volunteer their time with an organization that they are interested in.
A reminder: We are collecting general volunteering hours and tutoring hours. Take advantage of one of those simple ways to add your hours to HCRT’s total accumulation.

Sauder Village
Sauder Village (link) Looking for a way to connect with others, stay active with fun, fulfilling experiences, and give back to the community? Joining the Sauder Village Family of volunteers may just be for you! Early in November Kim Krieger joined us to share information about all that's happening at Sauder Village in Archbold. As part of the program she discussed the opportunity to get involved as a volunteer at Sauder Village. |
Operating Historic Sauder Village is a labor-intensive undertaking. Your involvement as an adult volunteer has a big impact on keeping Sauder Village viable and affordable for guests who come from throughout the region and around the world. Whether you want to interact with visitors in the Historic Village, assist with hands-on activities on special event days, or provide helping hands for behind-the-scenes work, each serves an important function that keeps the Sauder Village mission alive and well. Your contributions as a volunteer make an important difference!

Box 343 Napoleon, OH 43545 (419) 592-9455 To whom it may concern, Henry County CASA is currently recruiting for volunteers to make a commitment to our organization for the abused and neglected children in our court system. We are specifically in need of male volunteers for those children who are more comfortable with a man being their advocate. I can also send out the information at your request. Our hope is to someday have a CASA volunteer for every child going through the court system! Sincerely, Rachel Blanton Volunteer Coordinator |
